Lawyers are professionals who are obligated to provide high-quality services to their clients. This means, in part, matching legal services to what the client expects. Lawyers must also be familiar with legal principles and undertake a reasonable amount of legal research. They must use professional judgment, have technical and organizational skills and perform their services in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Publications which can help the lawyers determine the quality level of their practices are listed.

Even sole practitioners can make time for a summer vacation if they prioritize and plan wisely. They should put their vacation time on all office calendars, advise major clients of the time and offer to handle important matters either before or afterwards, call opposing counsel in pending cases and request that important matters not be scheduled during that time, and tell staff of their destination so they can be contacted in an emergency.

You want it when? Timely service keeps clients coming back
Article Abstract:
Attorneys, and especially sole practitioners, must remember that theirs is a service business and that clients who receive timely service are the ones who return. Prompt service will differentiate lawyers from their colleagues and bring clients their way. A practice which takes full advantage of modern technology will facilitate prompt service.
