Article Abstract:
Lawyer Renee R. Pelzman helped a workers comp claimant obtain permanent disability with a claim that a phobia of Afro-American males made it impossible for her to work in a racially mixed setting. Controls proposed for DNA labs; critics decry FBI role
Article Abstract:
The DNA Identification Act of 1993, which has passed the House and has good chances for passing the Senate, has criminal defense lawyers unhappy because the law gives the FBI the authority to set DNA typing standards. A 1992 National Research Council report was against this delegation of authority, stating that the FBI was neither experienced nor impartial enough to set these standards.
