Using the Internet-based electronic communications networks for extended-hours trading in stocks is discussed. Investors are able to make decisions based on news made public after normal trading closes. Technology stocks see most of the after-hours trading, but the trend is rapidly spreading.

Outsmart the market; selling losing stocks to offset taxable gains on winners can be the right call
Article Abstract:
The taxable gains distributed by mutual funds can be offset by the realized losses created by selling losing stocks. "Stop loss" sell orders placed when stock investors buy can also be a way of guarding against the tendency to keep losing stocks.That way when the price falls to a predetermined level, the stock is automatically sold. Having a preset trigger prevents investors from riding it down to the bottom.
