Tribute: Professor Preble Stolz
Article Abstract:
Preble Stolz joined the faculty of Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California, Berkeley in 1961, after serving as a Deputy Attorney General of California, and retired in 1991. Stolz is the author of 'Judging Judges,' a book about the controversy connected with the confirmation election of Rose Bird as Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court. He also served for two years in the administration of California Governor Jerry Brown in the mid-1970s.

Professor Buxbaum introduces two reprinted articles included in a tribute to fellow Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California, Berkeley Professor Stefan Albrecht Riesenfeld, who died in February of 1999. The articles concerning presidential and congressional power in international relations were written 50 years apart and provide some insight into Professor Riesenfeld's scholarly career.
