Prosecutors go to boot camp
Article Abstract:
Reporting of child abuse has grown more frequent since the promulgation of mandatory reporting at the beginning of the 1980s. Child abuse reports in 1991 totaled over 2.7 million, of which 1,383 involved deaths. This represents a tenfold increase in reporting during the last decade. There is no consensus on the number of unreported cases. The twice-yearly training workshop for state, federal and military child abuse prosecutors under the auspices of the National Center for the Prosecution of Child Abuse in Alexandria, VA, bears witness to the increased priority given to this area of criminal justice.

Dean A. Olds, a trademark lawyer who was part of the largest trademark infringement award in history, is now in the center of the murder trial of a man accused of killing Olds' wife.
