Decision-making tools for lawyers to use in evaluating job offers are discussed. The job market is excellent and includes large raises in new associate salaries across the US. Employment opportunities such as judicial clerkships and work for government attorneys are mentioned. Important areas for interviewing attorneys are also discussed.

Reports that many prosperous law firms have increased their pro bono time are discussed and reveal full parity for time spent on pro bono matters, budgeting for pro bono targets and rethinking the firms' pro bono programs. Why a lessened commitment to pro bono is also bad business is also discussed.

Article Abstract:
Law firms' using the Internet to decrease the costs of recruiting and to focus their searches more quickly is discussed. Many firms also use recruiting-specific sections on their Web sites and request that applicants e-mail their cover letters and resumes.
