Realism, liberalism, values, and the World Trade Organization
Article Abstract:
The form of the World Trade Organization (WTO) is more important to its success than its actual membership or efforts to expand standing. Steve Charmovitz believes interest groups' participation is crucial for the future of the WTO, while Richard Shell advocates expanded WTO standing and participatory legalism. However, an institutional argument emphasizing form and global economic realities is more pertinent and theoretically sound than these visions of increased WTO membership.

The viability of transplanted law: Kazakhstani reception of a transplanted foreign investment code
Article Abstract:
The Russian Republic of Kazakhstani's Foreign Investment Code presents an example of the political, social, and economic issues which result from a transplantation of law from one culture into another. Preliminary study appears to support the unexpected conclusion that the populace has easily accepted the transplanted law. This result and the likely interdependence of law and culture creates an imperative for further study.
