Democratizing the WTO
Article Abstract:
The author argues that many see the World Trade Organization as illegitimate because it lacks direct democratic input, uses a judicial procedure that is isolated from ordinary politics, and is vulnerable to domination by special interest groups. He contends that the WTO needs institutional reform and greater democratic control.
