Reparations for slavery and other historical injustices
Article Abstract:
Reparations for historical injustices, such as slavery, are often the topic of arguments over their ethical or political aspects. But little attention has been paid to the interaction between these aspects and the legal and economic questions of how reparations would be carried out. This interaction is discussed along with an analysis of the constitutional questions involved.

Police treatment of domestic violence and sexual abuse: affirmative duty to protect vs. Fourth Amendment privacy
Article Abstract:
The duty of police to protect potential victims of crime can conflict with 4th Amendment privacy guarantees in cases of domestic violence or sexual assault. To resolve this conflict, the standard of 4th Amendment protections could be lowered when police presence could result in a danger to themselves or others. Thus the threshold for reasonableness would be lowered.
