Securities; insider trading redux
Article Abstract:
The article argues that insider trading in securities has returned to Wall Street, and that the recent cases generally involve young brokerage firm professionals who acquired material nonpublic information on the job and traded on that information or tipped others who traded. The themes of the cases include the youth of the defendants, that they had yet to enter the securities industry when the scandals of the 1980s occurred and that the insider trading was not confined to any one category of Wall Street professionals.

What an imaging system can - and can't - do
Article Abstract:
Imaging technology, although expensive, can cut down on the amount of photocopying in a law firm and allow for electronic transmission and distribution of documents. Used in conjunction with optical character recognition, the image can be made into text searchable with a text retrieval system. The full text will be retrieved rather than a bibliographic entry. Search time is less than with other systems and documents can be called up from remote locations. One workstation configuration will run about $25,000.
