Sidley partner swaps Bulls for the Pacers

John J. Sabl, the executive vice pres, general counsel and secretary of Conseco Inc, a Fortune 500 financial services holding company which develops and administers supplemental health insurance, annuities and other insurance products, heads a department of 25 attorneys and tries to do as much work as possible in-house. Conseco has since 1982 acquired 19 insurance groups. The $7bil stock-swap acquisition of the Green Tree Financial Corp, a firm doing high-interest loans to mobile-home buyers, is in process.
