Late gains on the hill; ABA scores successes as 106th Congress winds down its session
Article Abstract:
The success the ABA achieved in its legislative program in the 106th Congress is discussed. Included were an increase in Legal Services Corp funding, court improvement legislation, and passage of the Strengthening Abuse and Neglect Courts Act.

Article Abstract:
The ABA helped enact several laws relating to the legal profession in 1998, including increased funding for the Legal Services Corp, a raise in the salary for federal judges, restoring benefits to some legal immigrants who were denied them by the 1996 welfare reform legislation, and several laws regarding children.
