The law firm culture of abuse
Article Abstract:
Law firms can, of course, critize new attorneys for behaving in an unprofessional manner and dismiss those who cannot make the grade, but this does not mean senior attorneys can abuse junior ones. The increasing lack of civility in society or the Socratic method used in some law school courses could cause this problem of abuse, as could the adversarial system in which lawyers are taught to perfect verbal skills. The legal profession must acknowledge the problem of abuse.
