'Tis the season to be marketing; remembering clients with cards or gifts can bring in business in the new year
Article Abstract:
Attorneys and in particular sole practitioners might find holiday gifts and cards a useful marketing tool. They help to reinforce the attorney's name and show that the client's business is appreciated. Reminding clients of the lawyer's existence and availability to meet their legal needs is especially important for sole practitioners. Lawyers might want to limit greeting card recipients to clients who have needed the lawyer's services not more than five years ago and those who have not needed them for an embarrassing reason.

A wake-up call
Article Abstract:
The mentality of law firm partnerships is changing as collegiality gives way to productivity. Some experts, however, believe law firms should encourage productivity through teamwork, and one increasingly common tool for doing this is the partner evaluation.
