Article Abstract:
Plaintiffs' attorneys charge that Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has been guilty of a pattern of discovery abuse, intentional delays and misrepresentation. Discovery sanctions were practically unknown just a generation ago, but today's judges are willing to use them and plaintiffs' lawyers who sue large companies are communicating with each other. The Tennessee attorney Bruce Kramer started an informal Wal-Mart litigation task force and has a database of many lawyers and journalists who have requested information.
