Whither deregulation: a look at the portents
Article Abstract:
The author reviews the issue of deregulation in the aftermath of the crises of electric power in California and the collapse of Enron Corporation. He reviews the rationale for regulation of industry and the reasons why several industries were deregulated. He discusses the 2001 power crisis in California and what it might mean for the deregulation movement.
