Winning the information revolution
Article Abstract:
Attorneys are involved in an information-based profession and so communication innovations such as e-mail will become essential parts of law practices in the future. Law firms are more likely to succeed with a diverse, computer-literate staff that is able to communicate with clients at higher rates of speed than is common now. While the number of attorneys will not necessarily change, law firms will have to adapt their sizes to the unique efficiencies of their communication systems.

Get it in writing: lawyers often fail to document due diligence in securities offerings
Article Abstract:
Attorneys involved in initial public offerings must carefully document the investigation of the company, especially for developmental or high-tech companies, to avoid liability by proving due diligence. The documentation should demonstrate competence, independence and completeness while the investigation must reflect the qualities of the employees, issuers and security type. Key techniques for document storage are also presented.
