Witness coaching: a good thing
Article Abstract:
Witness preparation is vital, so witness coaching before and even during a deposition is every lawyer's duty. Coaching in violation of the rules and encouraging a witness to violate the rules is the only thing which cannot be condoned. When the rules permit coaching the witness. lawyers who fail to take advantage of these rules abrogate their duty.

Trial lawyers' inability to follow Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 30(d)(1) regarding making objections during depositions is discussed. Legal etiquette should always be observed in making such objections.
