Article Abstract:
Around the world, broadcasters are turning down imported shows in favor of domestic shows. Emerging channels, however, are searching for cost-effective programming and for series that have pulling power, and sometimes imported programming suffices these needs. In mature markets, pay television channels are the most likely to search for imported programming because they have lower budgets for original shows.
