Article Abstract:
Cloud 9, an independent producer, has been awarded a historic commission by Channel 5 to produce the futuristic teen-drama "The Tribe." The 52-part series, which is slated to become a Saturday showpiece for C5, will depict the lives of gangs branded as "Gucci-grunge" youths as they aim for survival in a post-apocalyptic environment marked by empty shopping malls and unoccupied high-rise buildings. "The Tribe" is slated to start filming in New Zealand in September and is expected to be aired in April 1999.
