BBC outgunned in drama battle

ITV holds a 36% share of the peaktime drama market, but BBC 1, with a 27.7% share, hopes that more hit dramas in the 9:00 P.M. weekday slot will help it regain some of the market. ITV's strong ratings are a result of celebrity names in their line-ups and the success of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" Accompanying tables list the top 20 programs ranked by number of viewers, drama hours by subject, and average share by subject.
