BBC redundancy hunt begins in two divisions
Article Abstract:
The BBC has begun finding 1,000 employees in its news and Vision Studios divisions who will volunteer for redundancy, part of the proposed 1,800 job cuts. The first staff to leave can do so as early as December 1, 2007 and division representatives have met with union leaders to discuss the proposed redundancies. The proceedings of the redundancy plan are given.

Star trekking to an online community
Article Abstract:
Virgin 1 is attempting to create an online community made up of Star Trek fans by purchasing the entire 624 hours of the show and showing them online. Virgin Media TV managing director Jonathan Webb is behind the effort, with Web editor Gavin Newman overseeing web content.
