Keith Scholey, head of BBC Natural History Unit, has weathered the instability of his genre and is motivated to take natural history forward and make it competitive. Ratings are now increasing, and the genre is experiencing a rebound with presenter-led programming and developing programming in the traditional natural history format, and Scholey believes that there is a bright future for natural history programming.

BBC satellite move to cost Sky 85 million pounds sterling

BBC has announced plans to move its eight channels to the Astra 2D satellite. Over the next five years, the move will save the company 85 million pounds sterling in encryption charges to Sky.
