Behind the mic: John Leonard
Article Abstract:
John Leonard was a professional musician before working for BBC at Radio Sheffield in 1976, then in 1995 he joined Nick Barraclough to set up indie radio station Smooth Operations. He believes that the decline in the quality of television programs paved the way for radio to receive a bigger audience, and the biggest challenge for radio is to avoid having the same fate as TV. His views on UK's radio industry are presented.
