Children's TV reporting requirements in effect
Article Abstract:
Regulations regarding children's television programming, are in effect Sep 1, 1997. The three hour per week programming schedule designed to further the educational and informational needs of children 16 or under are requirements of the Children's Television Act. Stations not fulfilling the requirements will be noticed by the Federal Communication Commission when their renewal application is submitted.

Television broadcasters must file permits and license applications with the Federal Communications Commission to authorize the construction of digital television facilities. Filing deadlines in 1988 vary according to designated market areas. Application forms and information are available at the FCC, or through their Internet address.
