EEOC jurisdiction over radio and television stations
Article Abstract:
Radio and television stations having 15 or more employees are subject to federal EEOC jurisdiction regarding employment policies. Only employees under a broadcaster's control are counted, so part-time staff, temporary staff, sales reps, officers, directors, or partners may or may not be counted, depending upon their particular status as defined employees. Stations also can charged with discrimination under the Age Discrimination in Employment and Americans with Disabilities Acts.

Public inspection file and main studio rules update
Article Abstract:
The FCC has proposed revising rules governing broadcast stations' Public Inspection Files and main studio locations. Under these changes, the Public Inspection File could be maintained at a station's main studio, and the rule on main studio location would also become more flexible. Public inspection and political broadcast files' retention periods also would be revised under these changes.
