Article Abstract:
A theoretical approach is outlined and criticicized that can increase understanding of the relationship between environmental protest and news media representation. The study shows that Manuel Castells' understanding of the interaction between the two groups is not manifest in the Australian context, intimating the need for more context-specific reading of media-environmentalist relations.
