Farm Bill 2007: placing fisheries upstream of conservation provisions
Article Abstract:
The reauthorization of the 2002 U.S. Farm Bill is examined. The bill, which is scheduled to be reauthorized in 2007, had limited specifications for aquatic conservation. The provisions of the legislation are analyzed in order come up with a list of issues to be addressed in its 2007 version. The provisions of the proposed 2007 Farm Bill are also examined.

Hogarth stands behind amendment 13
Article Abstract:
NOAA fisheries and New England Council together formed an amendment 13 with the aim to reduce the social and economic effects by abiding by the law. However, this amendment 13, which proposed a solution that would meet the requirements of preservation, was sanctioned by the council since the fishing industry was substantially involved in it.
