Fate of the shop window
Article Abstract:
Broadcaster ITV's decreased advertising revenue is due to competition from the growing multichannel market and decreased budgets of advertisers, and could mean a cut in programming and production spending. The industry wide advertising sales slump prompted the Independent Television Commission to ease its sponsorship rules and give broadcasters 30 seconds more advertising airtime per hour in order to help lift sales income.
