Friends of the earth?
Article Abstract:
The decline in popularity of natural history programs on British television may lead to a revival of more environmentally based programmes. The British Broadcasting Corporation Ltd series 'Wildlife on One' had an audience of only 6.1 million. Industry experts suggest they need a special presenter to front the new type of programmes they are planning to make. They point out they require an expert in making good television programmes rather than an animal expert. The new programmes are more likely to deal with animal behaviour or with an environmental theme.

Channel 5 lays down the law
Article Abstract:
Channel 5 believes that its six-episode legal drama 'Wing and a Prayer' will be successful when it is broadcast in autumn 1997. The series, produced by Thames Television, had to be made on a very small budget, but is not simply a low-budget version of existing successful legal dramas, such as 'Kavanagh QC.' Costs were kept down by producing the whole series almost entirely on a set constructed in a warehouse in London, England, in only five weeks.
