Hat Trick poised to bag US double

Hat Trick Productions, the leading independent television production firm in the UK, is poised to market its Whose Line is it Anyway improvisational show in the US. Hat Trick is also talking to ABC television in the US about running its Have I Got News for You long-running cult panel show as well. The Whose Line is it Anyway show has already been shown in the US and is praised as the hit of the summer by Daily Variety, the American television idustry bible. If all goes well in the negotiations, Hat Trick will have a three-year, first-look output deal with ABC.

E! plans new European push
Article Abstract:
E! Entertainment Television intends to open a new office in London by mid-1999 to support its channel launches in the European region. The first channel will be launched in Poland after E!'s joint-venture negotiations with Zone Vision of Poland. E!, which plans to roll out a preview signal by end of 1998 and a 24-hour service by February 1999, will be transmitting 800 hours of American programs dubbed for the Polish market during its first year. E! intends to launch a total of six channels in Europe including in the UK before the end of 1999.
