British Broadcasting Corporation Ltd, (BBC) Worldwide Chief Executive Rupert Gavin has plans to increase the revenue from international markets and to meet the goal of 300 million pounds sterling by 2006. Gavin took over his new job on Jul. 1, 1998. The worldwide division made 75 million pounds sterling in 1996-97. Gavin had previously worked at British Telecom where he started British Interactive Broadcasting. He is a wealthy man with several properties in the UK. Some industry observers suggest he will eventually head the BBC.

Dunn roaming?
Article Abstract:
Richard Dunn is expected to resign from Pearson and Thames Television following the appointment of Greg Dyke as his new boss. Dunn will feel that his career ambitions have been thwarted by Dyke's appointment, with Dunn having headed Thames Television since 1985. Dyke and Dunn have totally conflicting management styles within ITV, with Dyke perceived as more dynamic and focused while Dunn is perceived as an elder statesman. The two men are personal friends.
