ITV is trying to improve its television drama output, which has come under intense criticism during the past few years, to help ITV1 channel regain its audience . The network is focusing on contemporary series and is looking for series that can run for as long as 16 weeks while still bringing in the ra tings .

Warning over ITV sales houses
Article Abstract:
The planned merger of Carlton Communications and Granada PLC has been put on hold due to a warning by the United Kingdom's Competition Committee. Both firms have been warned by the committee that they must spin off their sales houses in order for the merger to push through.
