Indies attack 15% cuts
Article Abstract:
BBC director general Mark ThompsonEs proposal for 15% cut in the hourly cost of commissions is being criticized by indies and in-house producers. Thompson is pointing to BBCIEs Doctors as an example of programmes that could be made on low budgets. However, programme-makers are attacking the move as they feel it would be very difficult to do so for low budget programmes that are already constrained by finances. The creation of the ewindow of creative competitionE (WOCC) is being received well, as it ensures 25% of commissions to all.
