Live, from the Persian Gulf war
Article Abstract:
Technology enabled Americans to witness the Persian Gulf War by tuning in to their TV and radio sets. Networks that broadcast real-time footages of successful bombing runs and Patriot intercepts of Scud missiles made viewers perceive the war like a Nintendo game. Live broadcasts of American and allied military officials briefings were also offered. However, some mediamen covering the war tended to ask inane questions, making them look ridiculous onscreen.

Southern exposure
Article Abstract:
New shows have constantly remained top-raters in Canadian television despite the barrage of American television programs. This is attributed to the fact that Canadians are willing to let Americans entertain them but prefer to get their news from a Canadian perspective. Canadians also view American culture differently from Americans and manage to remain detached from its influence despite their exposure.

From Pollock to Mapplethorpe: the media and 'the Artworld.' (role of media in art)
Article Abstract:
The media plays a pivotal role in analyzing the issues involved in creative artworks, as revealed through the cases of artist Jackson Pollock in 1964 and photographer Robert Mapplethorpe in 1980. Life magazine considered the works of these two artists immoral and, through its editorials, created a public opinion that led to the banning of their works.
