The journey is the destination
Article Abstract:
A journalist and author reminiscences on the philanthropic disposition of her photographer son, Dan Eldon which eventually propelled him towards a gruesome death in Mogadishu, Somalia. While she blames herself for her son's death by encouraging him to become a photographer, to Dan life was a journey to be viewed with sincerity and clarity of vision. He set up a charity, build two wells for the refugees at Malawi and donated a Land Cruiser to the Save the Children Fund. Although a tough journalist, Dan was horrified by the reality of war and famine as depicted by the pictures he took in Somalia.
