Comedy for the masses
Article Abstract:
Getting five comedians together to create a sketch comedy team began with a performance by Lee Mack being seen by executive producer Steve Coogan, who began talking with Avalon Television to bring the comedy act to the mainstream in a television show called "The Sketch Show". The four other comedians were chosen and the live try-outs showed each persons comic personalities and ability to work together. The ITV series is directed by Richard Boden.

Filming the comedy-drama "Doc Martin" has taken the production team to the Cornish coast, where the weather can turn very unexpectedly leaving the crew sick or having to abandon ship. Ben Bolt directed the film, Philippa Braithwaite and Buffalo Productions produced it, and Sky Pictures' Jaime Roberts was co-executive producer.
