Vanessa Chapman, ITV's children's controller, has maintained a close watch on Children's ITV (CITV) in her two years as controller. Over the period she has seen increased competition from cable and satellite rivals, including the recently launched Fox Kids Network. However CITV has a 40% share of the market, compared to BBC1's 33.6% share, and has opted for a modular approach to Saturday morning programming.

The film entitled Beyond Fear is just one of Red Rooster's many drama productions featuring exciting storylines with prominent women leads. Chief executive Linda James says that the company strives to add meaning to entertainment.
