New line-up for Anglia TV
Article Abstract:
The creation of United Broadcasting and Entertainment to cover the merged interests of Meridian Broadcasting and Anglia TV has prompted changes to the management team at Anglia. Malcolm Wall has become deputy director of broadcasting and entertainment in the revised United Broadcasting operation, while his position as managing director at Anglia has been taken by Graham Creelman, formerly Anglia's director of programmes. Anglia believes that the appointment of freelance producer and director Bob Cousins to the position of head of entertainment will allow it to boost its presence in entertainment.

Grade: indies face chop if C4 sold off
Article Abstract:
Plans by the UK government to privatise Channel 4 would severely damage the channel's diversity and distinctness, according to Michael Grade, the channel's chief executive. Privatisation would also have a negative impact on independent programme-makers, with the number of such companies making programmes for Channel 4 falling from 500 to only 20 or 30. Some observers feel that the privatisation of Channel 4 would not actually bring much financial gain for the government.
