Article Abstract:
With the exit of Lorraine Heggessey, there is a queue of women ready to take on the mantle as the controller of BBC1, reflecting that women get top jobs in broadcasting. However, this does not portray the right picture of the industry. The latest employment census conducted by Skillset, based on information gathered from about 3,000 employers, reveals that in most sectors of broadcasting, representation of women employees is still quite low.

The science master

John Lynch, creative director of BBC Science says audiences are turning to programmes that feature science and that science is the cornerstone of what BBC does well. Creativity is the key, coming up with new ideas like the 'immersive approach'. Even as all the BBC production teams are under the Review microscope, the BBC Science department displays confidence as it delivers.
