Questions of reception for C5
Article Abstract:
Channel 5, which is set to be launched in the UK on Easter Sunday 1997, will not be available to all television viewers. Indeed, around 20% of the population will be outside a reception area because of a shortage of suitable frequencies. This problem is likely to alienate many television viewers. However, the launch of Channel 5 should not be delayed any further, as the majority of viewers should not be denied a new television channel simply because a minority are unable to receive it.
