DJ legal guide
Article Abstract:
On-air radio personalities must observe FCC rules on indecent broadcasting, hoaxes, defamation, contests, rebroadcasting, invasion of privacy, telephone conversations, and payola. Stations are liable for the actions of their disc jockeys, but may be able to limit liability by demonstrating preventative measures taken to avoid infractions by DJs. Station managers should ensure on-air staff understand and comply with general rules on defamation and privacy regarding airing of personal opinions, telephone calls, and so on.

Tortious interference with contract
Article Abstract:
A tobacco company has charged '60 Minutes' for tortious interference with a non-disclosure agreement between its former employee and the company. It asserted that the TV show intentionally induced the former employee to breach its contract with the company by disclosing confidential information. Although '60 Minutes' did not pay the interviewee to talk, evidence show that it had promised the interviewee that it will shoulder any expenses that might arise should the tobacco company file suits.
