Article Abstract:
A radio broadcasting station has to pay 1.56% of yearly gross revenue excluding net revenue from political broadcasts, rate card discount, 15% agency commission as blanket fees to the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). Alternatively, for every program a station has to pay an annual fees of 4.22% of the revenue to ASCAP every hour that it plays ASCAP music and 4% of the net revenue to Broadcast Music, Incorporated (BMI) for every quarter hour that it plays BMI music.

AM tower fencing
Article Abstract:
FCC has issued new fencing regulations for AM radio stations. These provisions were designed to protect the public from accidental radio frequency shocks and harmful exposure to powerful radiation fields. New FCC regulations require all AM radio stations tohave base antennas with radio frequency potential to be enclosed within a specific area. The FCC has outlined the required distance in the construction of AM tower fences depending upon the station's transmission power.

Rebroadcasts
Article Abstract:
Radio stations may choose to rebroadcast part or all of a program broadcast earlier. Rebroadcast permission must be granted by the original station, but programs from the Voice of America and the armed forces require special arrangements. Rebroadcasting time signals from the National Bureau of Standards must be transmitted within 5 one-hundredths of a second of receipt.
