Article Abstract:
The television programs shown by British Independent Television Ltd. (ITV) are improving in quality whilst some of the British Broadcasting Corporation's (BBC) programmes have become worse, particularly on Monday and Thursday nights. Viewing figures show that changing the time of Coronation Street to accommodate international football events is extremely unpopular although the episode featuring the cruise was viewed in large numbers.

A game of two channels: the BBC has beaten ITV in the semi-finals - the real competition will come from BSkyB. But does the crowd care?
Article Abstract:
A survey of the Sports Top Tens on television shows that the BBC has four times as many entries as ITV. ITV had hoped to co-ordinate coverage with Channel 4 but the advent of Channel 4 made little difference. C4 rarely moves into the lower reaches of the Top Ten. Real competition will come from BSkyB, although the BBC's FA deal involved Sky Sport.
