Article Abstract:
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued the Reregistration Eligibility Decision (RED) on March 31, 2007, which authorized the reregistration of rotenone, a chemical used as a piscicide. The issuance of the RED regarding the reregistration of antimycin, as well as need for training in using fish toxins, is also discussed.

Major aquaculture drug approval

The aquaculture drug Florfenicol (Aquaflor) was approved to help control salmonid mortality due to coldwater disease. The approval was obtained through the efforts of sponsor Schering-Plough Animal Health Corporation and state and federal researchers.
