Rush of deals likely before April tax hike
Article Abstract:
Television producers are rushing to close deals before the abolition of taper relief in April 2008, wherein they will be required to pay up to 80% more tax on their profits. T he taper relief will be replaced by a single rate of capital gains tax of 18% on disposals. The current tax system and other details of the new rule are discussed.
