Say goodbye to Hollywood: if British drama can out-perform American blockbuster movies on the ratings table surely home-produced films would do likewise

Channel 4 has increased investment in films by 6 million pounds sterling to increase the number of its production to 18 a year, and the BBC is to screen eight films at the London Film Festival (LFF). Yorkshire-Tyne Tees Television, Granada and LWT are also aiming to develop a new showcase for films made in Britain. ITV has become disillusioned with its acquired Hollywood product which has seen falling ratings.

ITV staff may yet pay price for Deloitte report

The Deloitte report has uncovered rigging of ITV game shows "Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway" and "Soapstar Superstar", and executive c hairman Michael Grade announced that no staff will be fired. ITV insiders still believe that employees will leave in the near future. The reactions of the industr and politicians on the issue are also given.
