Standing up for the facts
Article Abstract:
The 1968 Chicago Democratic Convention was a tense, violence-marred event. CBS reporter Dan Rather was assigned to interview a delegate who had been forcibly removed from the center. Rather recalls reasoning politely with security personnel as he tried to interview the delegate. A photograph of that moment portrays an assertive, doggedly dedicated Rather squaring off with at least four security personnel who tried to block his way.
