A panel of television broadcasting industry executives debated issues about pressures facing commercial channels, and agree that channel controllers and broadcasters are out of touch with who their its audience is. They also agree that the BBC should place more emphasis on public service broadcasting such as arts, documentary and foreign affairs programming, and focus less on high viewer share.

Grade faces public grilling
Article Abstract:
Michael Grade, BBC's Chairman has spent hours on series of public appearances clarifying on various critical comments related to his governance style from license fee payers and critics from television broadcasting industry. One of the issues raised was the repetition of programs on BBC. Grade promised to make BBC1 and BBC2, repeat free channels.
