Target springs rights to Shed's Jailbirds
Article Abstract:
Target, which is a newly established independent distributor, has won the international rights to ITV drama Jailbirds, the first commission of Shed Productions. Target managing director Alison Rayson intends to hold pre-sales negotiations on Jailbirds in October 1998 at Mipcom. Jailbirds, which is a 10 x 60-minute series that is set in a women's prison in south London, is scheduled to be delivered in April 1999 to ITV and is slated to be unveiled internationally in spring 1999 at MipTV. Target is supported by TalkBack Productions and Tiger Aspect Productions.

Indie lands rights to Archer dramas
Article Abstract:
The independent producer Jam Pictures (London, England) has received the rights to produce television programs based upon the books of Jeffrey Archer from HarperCollins. The series will be co-produced with Phoenix Pictures, and will be marketed internationally by Hamden Entertainment. Jam is currently seeking writers for the first series of programs. If a U.S. broadcaster is located, Jam expects to begin production next year.
